Andrew Simms
Andrew dives into the friction of city life through street photography and screen‑printing, hijacking the visual language of popular culture and refusing to let familiar images sit quietly. He drives photographic imagery through the rough mechanics of digital manipulation and screen printing to distort and sabotage its claim to truth. By remixing streets, screens, and cultural symbols, his work exposes the social and political systems embedded in everyday life, imagining other ways of living, resisting, and reclaiming agency and autonomy. By altering the experience of everyday life, Andrew exposes and subverts the social and political forces that shape the environments where people live and elicit ideas of alternative existence and reimagined futures.
